Your move-in deposit is the amount of money you require someone to place on hold in order to book your space and take it off the market.

People usually choose the amount of the first month of rent. You can also include known fees like utilities, intern, additional application fees or a security deposit.

You can also ask for a security deposit - for example if your rent is $2500 a month and you'd like to ask a renter to pay one month's rent and a security deposit then you would like $5000 as the amount necessary to secure the apartment.
